BROOKLYN - First lady Michelle Obama today unveiled ?My Plate,? a new symbol for healthy eating in America. The food plate will now replace the old food pyramid.

Nutritionists say the plate is an encouraging step in the fight against obesity. The picture can directly translate to what and how much food you are about to eat.

The simple plate has two large sections for vegetables and grains, two smaller ones for fruit and protein, and a small circle for dairy.

However, health officials say the greatest challenges are getting kids to exercise and make sure there is enough access to healthy foods.
