A new path is expected to open soon for bicycle riders and walkers in Brooklyn Bridge Park.Parks Department officials say the trail will connect piers

BROOKLYN - A new path is expected to open soon for bicycle riders and walkers in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Parks Department officials say the trail will connect piers 1 and 6. They say paving has been completed and additional work will be finished shortly.

Bikers say they are excited about having the extra space in the park.

Brooklyn Bridge Park officials have yet to set an exact opening day for the new path.
