NEW YORK - New York City communities took part in the 30th annual National Night Out Against Crime last night.

Police precincts throughout the five boroughs hosted family friendly events featuring food, music and children’s activities.

The event serves as an opportunity for local residents to meet and greet their local police force.

Organizers say the event helps to build camaraderie with neighbors who may not often interact.
