NEW YORK - The New York Daily News has officially endorsed Joe Lhota for mayor in the Republican primary.

The newspaper said in an article that Lhota is "clearly the best candidate" and that "he brings to the campaign an unparalleled record of high-level, government service and sector experience."

Lhota is the former chairman of the MTA.

He has already been endorsed by the New York Post and the New York Times.
