BROOKLYN - Several New York politicians competed at Borough Hall today in a stickball challenge.

Each candidate got eight chances to swing for the fences, but they soon found that the New York pasttime is not as easy as it looks.

The players included mayoral candidate Bill Thompson, Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, City Comptroller and mayoral candidate John Liu and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz.

While all of the public figures gave a good effort, Diaz took home the win with the furthest hit.

New York City politics publication City & State hosted the event. The proceeds were given to the Harlem RBI youth organization.
