CONEY ISLAND - Young hockey players strapped on their skates today on Coney Island for a special hockey clinic hosted by the New York Rangers.

The clinic was part of the Rangers Assist celebration for the Greater NYC Ice Hockey League and was held at the Abe Stark Skating Rink on Coney Island.

The Rangers Assist program, in partnership with Chase, gets more children involved with hockey, which can be expensive and not easily accessible. The program refurbishes local ice rinks, lowers participation fees for hockey events and improves the overall youth hockey experience.

Rangers alumni will also be playing an exhibition hockey game at the rink later Tuesday.
