BOSTON - New York Yankees pitcher Michael Pineda has been suspended 10 games for using pine tar to help him grip the ball.

The right-hander was tossed during Wednesday's away game against Boston after umpires found the pine tar on his neck. He left the mound without protest.

The incident comes just 13 days after Pineda appeared to get away with having a brown goo on the palm of his pitching hand in another game against the Red Sox.
