GARDEN CITY - Murder suspect Levi Aron is due back in court next week, and News 12 Brooklyn's Josh Chapin spoke with his attorneys, Jennifer McCann and Pierre Bazile, as they prepare for the upcoming trial.

Aron is accused of killing and dismembering 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky in his Kensington home two weeks ago after allegedly kidnapping the boy as he walked home from his day camp.

McCann has taken on Aron's case after another lawyer resigned last week, and she says past experiences with similar cases make her confident she can handle this one.

"A lot of lawyers don't want to come into this case, and I know a lot of lawyers don't feel competent to come into this case,? McCann says. ?I'm willing to protect his right[s?] because his rights are the same as yours and mine.?

While McCann and Bazile would not comment on Aron's condition, they did say he is still undergoing psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital. Aron is due in court Aug. 4 for his arraignment.
