Night closures on Brooklyn Bridge begin

Construction on the Brooklyn Bridge started last night and will cause significant changes to overnight travel. The bridge will be closed to Manhattan during overnight

BROOKLYN - Construction on the Brooklyn Bridge started last night and will cause significant changes to overnight travel. The bridge will be closed to Manhattan during overnight hours for the next four years. Manhattan-bound lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. weeknights, midnight to 7 a.m. Saturdays and 12 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Sundays.

The closures will not affect Brooklyn-bound traffic or pedestrian cycling paths on the bridge.
