No cash needed at Brooklyn Free Store

BED-STUY - When you're being "rung up" at a Brooklyn store that opened last month, you'll never be asked, "Cash or credit?"

That's because all merchandise under the tent at the Brooklyn Free Store is just that, free. Started by a group of friends and neighbors last month, the inventory is mostly made up of donations and unwanted items left curb-side at local colleges.

The operators of the giveaway boutique say they opened to help out Brooklyn's homeless and unemployed. They say their merchandise is better put to use this way than sitting in landfills.
