BROOKLYN - Police say that an East Flatbush crash that sent 12 people to the hospital over the weekend appears to be an unfortunate accident.

A car jumped the curb at Utica and Church avenues, smashing into a scaffolding and 10 pedestrians waiting for a bus, according to investigators. The driver, a passenger and all 10 people on the sidewalk were taken to the hospital, including a toddler.

Officials say the 48-year-old driver was trying to avoid something on the street when she crashed.
