Nostrand Avenue could see rapid bus lane

Shop owners along one section of Nostrand Avenue say a plan to put a Bus Rapid Transit Route in front of their stores will drive

BROOKLYN - Shop owners along one section of Nostrand Avenue say a plan to put a Bus Rapid Transit Route in front of their stores will drive away customers.

Naby Toure, who owns a business on the block, says most of his customers drive cars and park in front of the store to run in and make purchases. Owners believe putting a rapid bus lane on the street will cause traffic to build up in the moving traffic lanes and eliminate available parking.

Riders of the B44 bus are thrilled, since the rapid bus routes cut their commutes down.
