FLATBUSH -  New reports are scrutinizing the Red Cross for its use of donations after the massive earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010.

NPR and Propublica say that the American Red Cross raised $500 million in 2010 to help people in Haiti following a deadly earthquake, but have only built six homes.

Ricot Dupuy, of local Haitian radio station Radio Soleil, says his family and friends who still live in the country are struggling to survive.

"They still don't have housing. They still don't have places to live. You don't see them in the streets but it's like they're buried," he says.

A spokesperson with the American Red Cross who spoke to News 12 says the organization is "disappointed" by the "inaccurate" article, and insists that the Red Cross has provided more than 130,000 Haitians with a safe place to live by either providing rental homes or repairing existing homes.
