NY to lose 2 seats in Congress, growth slows

NEW YORK - (AP) - New York is set to lose two seats in Congress asthe state's slow growth has been outpaced in other states.

That's according to figures from the 2010 census released inWashington Tuesday morning.

New York's current 29-member Congressional delegation will dropto 27. That's the lowest number since 1823.

The Democratic-controlled Assembly and newly Republican-ledstate Senate are tasked with drawing the new districts.
