BROOKLYN - New Yorkers are being urged to get a flu shot as soon as possible as the number of cases continues to climb locally and across the nation.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) rolled up his sleeve to set a good example. After giving the governor his shot, New York City Health Commissioner Nirav Shah stressed that it is not too late to get the vaccine and help prevent the virus.

State health officials say they are seeing five times as many cases compared to this time last year, and it's not peak flu season yet.
