NEW YORK - An assistant commissioner for the New York City Housing Authority has been arrested along with six other people and charged with several counts of bribery, corruption and racketeering.

Investigators say Wendell Walters and the other defendants ran a scheme that netted them between $1 million-$2 million in bribes and kickbacks during the past decade.
