NYC pools officially open for the summer

BROOKLYN - All 55 outdoor public pools in New York City officially opened today for swimmers. In Brooklyn, there were extra reasons to celebrate, as McCarren Park Pool reopened after extensive renovations.

McCarren Park Pool reopened to the public for the first time in 28 years with a new swimming pool that can accomodate 1,500 people. The pool area can also be converted into an ice skating rink for the winter.

All of the pools will remain open through Labor Day.
