BROOKLYN - A New York City shelter says budget cuts are making it difficult to adequately feed the animals under its care.

New York City Animal Care & Control, a nonprofit organization, gets a significant amount of its funding from the city, which is dealing with a gaping budget hole.

The shelter is now turning to the public for help and asking for donations.
