NYCHA kicks off fatherhood initiative

Families from all across the five boroughs gathered in Williamsburg today to celebrate the launch of the New York City Public Housing Authority's new fatherhood

BROOKLYN - Families from all across the five boroughs gathered in Williamsburg today to celebrate the launch of the New York City Public Housing Authority's new fatherhood initiative.

Tables set up by the NYCHA at the event offered a wide variety of information for fathers, including employment tips and education options for those who never earned their high school diploma.

Fathers, however, were not the only ones in attendance. Kim James, a single mother, says she brought her children to the kickoff event so that they could get the fatherly support James says her children didn't have.
