BROOKLYN - A carjacker stole a truck and used it to run down its owner in Sunset Park Monday morning, police say.

Phil Dellegrazie, a 63-year-old local business owner and father of three, died when he attempted to chase and confront the thief.

According to investigators, Dellegrazie left the keys in the ignition of his truck before a thief jumped into the driver seat and took off down Fourth Avenue.

Police say the driver ran him down, fled up a wrong-way street and eventually struck a Lexus.

The suspect got out and ran away on foot, police say.

Dellegrazie owned A&D Ironworks in Sunset Park.

"He was a good man, good boss," says Pablo Rodriguez, an employee there.
