NEW YORK - An internal investigation is underway into an apparent road rage incident involving an NYPD detective and an Uber driver.
The confrontation was caught on cellphone video along the West Side Highway by one of the Uber driver's passengers.
According to published reports, the officer stopped the driver in an unmarked police car for honking at him because he didn't use a blinker. The detective then launches into a tirade, repeatedly berating the driver.
The detective is assigned to the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force and faces suspension, reassignment and loss of his top security clearance.
