(08/30/10) BROOKLYN - The NYPD is investigating a woman's claim that a member of the police force prevented her from getting her daughter to a hospital, leading to the child?s death.

Brianna Ojeda's mother says her daughter suffered an asthma attack just three weeks before her 12th birthday. Her mother says she rushed her into their car and proceeded to drive to Long Island College Hospital, just blocks from the park they were in.

In order to avoid traffic from the afternoon rush, she says she began driving the wrong way on one-way streets. Ojeda and other witnesses say a man in uniform driving a marked vehicle attempted to box her in and subsequently refused to help Ojeda, claiming he didn't know CPR.

Ojeda's mother claims the officer then followed her to the hospital, but by the time they arrived, it was too late for Brianna.

The NYPD and Ojeda's mother have been unable to identify the individual or which area of the NYPD he worked for.
