NYPD report: Several precincts experiencing rise in violent crime

BROOKLYN - Several police departments across the city are reporting crime increases in their communities. The 66th Precinct, which covers the Borough Park, Kensington and Midwood sections of Brooklyn, has seen a 21-percent rise in felony assault cases since last year. However, the report also shows that burglaries have decreased by 19 percent. Other neighborhoods experiencing a slight rise in crime include Crown Heights, Sheepshead Bay, Williamsburg and Carol Gardens.
