BATH BEACH - Police say the discovery of a weapons cache that included a grenade launcher and tear gas led to a woman’s arrest Thursday.

Police say they received a tip that Helen Chin, 53, was concealing numerous weapons inside her apartment at 8699 19th Ave. in Bath Beach.

When officers executed a search warrant Wednesday, they say they discovered a stockpile including six AR-15s, handguns, shotguns, a grenade launcher and 100 high-capacity magazines.

Police say it appeared that Chin's deceased husband may have been a gun collector. After her husband's death, police say she tried to sell the weapons.

Police say she is facing multiple charges, including of criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted, she faces up to 25 years in prison.
