WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama today defended the FBI and Department of Homeland Security, saying it appears they did exactly what they were supposed to do ahead of the Boston Marathon bombings.

He says the FBI immediately took action when Russia alerted the U.S. about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the now deceased older brother suspected in the attack.

Obama says a national security review will look into whether or not there's more government can do to prevent similar attacks.
