BROOKLYN - Dozens of occupants from the Tillary Street Women’s Shelter are protesting what they say are unacceptable living conditions.

They chose today to protest as representatives from the Department of Homeless Services and the non-profit group Coalition for the Homeless came to inspect the shelter.

Occupants say the facility is filled with mold and garbage.

If the Coalition for the Homeless deems the conditions inside the shelter to be inhumane, a representative tells News 12 that they will force the DHS to make the changes.

The Department of Homeless Services has not replied to repeated calls for comment on this report.
