Off-duty police officer shot in E. New York

Police say an off-duty 38-year-old female NYPD officer was shot while sitting in her car in East New York today. Officials say the incident occurred

EAST NEW YORK - Police say an off-duty 38-year-old female NYPD officer was shot while sitting in her car in East New York today.

Officials say the incident occurred at around 4 p.m. at the McDonalds at Pennsylvania Avenue and Linden Boulevard.

Police say the officer was shot in the hand and elbow. She was taken to Kings County Hospital and is expected to recover.

Officials say they do not believe the officer was targeted. No arrests have been made yet.
