BROOKLYN - An NYPD officer and father of three remains hospitalized in critical condition after being injured in a fire this past Sunday in Coney Island.

Officer Dennis Guerra's family has been with him all day at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Guerra, 38, was taken to Montefiore from Jacobi Medical Center because he needed the hyperbaric chamber.

NYPD officers were in and out of the hospital throughout the day visiting Guerra, who remains in a medically induced coma. Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton also visited Guerra and his family for about an hour.

In total, 14 people were hurt in the high-rise fire on Sunday. Guerra and officer Rosa Rodriguez were both critically injured and treated for carbon monoxide poisoning.

A neighborhood teen is now charged with arson, assault and reckless endangerment. Marcell Dockery, 16, allegedly told detectives that he started the fire because he was bored.
