BENSONHURST - After a long recovery from a traffic accident, NYPD Officer Carlos Olmedo finally returned to the 62nd precinct to a warm reception.

Olmedo suffered severe brain injuries that left him in a coma for several days after being struck by a motorcycle.

His partner, Officer Marlon Key, said he and colleagues feared the worst and thought they were going to lose him.

While it is all smiles at the 62nd precinct, Olmedo still has a long road to full recovery and a return to duty.
