BROOKLYN - Police Commissioner Ray Kelly has reported that the officer shot nine times in the Sikh temple shooting in Wisconsin hails from Brooklyn.

Officials say that Lt. Brian Murphy is in critical condition.

The 51-year-old officer is the brother of Terry Murphy, a former detective who retired from the intelligence unit of the NYPD just a month ago. Murphy's dad still lives in Kensington.
