Officials encourage barbecue safety for Memorial Day

Some residents who visited Prospect Park on Sunday learned that there are certain rules in place for barbecuing.

BROOKLYN - Some residents who visited Prospect Park on Sunday learned that there are certain rules in place for barbecuing.

Grilling is only allowed in certain areas as designated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

Brooklyn residents can log onto the department's website for a full list of designated barbecue areas in Prospect Park and parks across the borough.
