SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Local officials say they are doing everything they can to ensure that another supermarket will replace the Pathmark that is closing on Nostrand Avenue in Sheepshead Bay.

They say they've already sent letters to Stop & Shop, Key Food, Whole Foods and a slew of other grocery stores.

Although the 45,000 square-foot store has rooftop parking, officials say most people walk to do their grocery shopping and that residents need a supermarket in the area.

Another reason officials say they are looking to put another supermarket in that location is because more than 100 employees will lose their jobs when Pathmark closes.
