President Barack Obama visited the National Hurricane Center in Miami ahead of hurricane season, just as the city is taking steps to prepare locally.

Officials gathered at P.S. 24 in Sunset Park Wednesday to urge Brooklyn residents to take steps now to get ready for summer storms.

The school is just one of the city's 64 hurricane evacuation centers, but most might not know that.
