BAY RIDGE - Bay Ridge residents may not have to look both ways when they cross one of their busiest streets this summer.

State Sen. Martin Golden held a public hearing with local residents Wednesday night to get feedback on plans to ban cars on Third Avenue every Friday evening from the end of July through August.

Local officials claim 63 percent of local businesses support a pedestrian mall for the summer.
