Officials: 'Tis the Season for Holiday Scams

BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents are being urged to look out for possible scams this holiday season.

The Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan New York (BBB) says the holidays are a great time to celebrate family and friendship, but they are also a prime time for falling victim to fraud.

The BBB says residents should ensure all online purchases they make are from websites with their seal. Also, people are advised not to buy must-have items from second-hand sales sites or anyone that needs banking information.
