MIDWOOD - Officials say a 5-year-old boy was struck by a car this afternoon in a grocery store parking lot.

Emergency officials say the boy was hit by the car in the ShopRite parking lot on MacDonald Avenue and Avenue I in Midwood.

The boy was taken to the hospital by ambulance, according to officials. There is no word on his condition.
