BROOKLYN - The owner of the Brooklyn Heights Cinema is eyeing a move to the location of the closed DUMBO restaurant Rebar.

Kenn Lowy, owner of the Brooklyn Heights Cinema, says attendance from the neighborhood has been dwindling in recent years. He thinks moving the theater to DUMBO could help keep it open.

Rebar shut down earlier this year after its owner Jason Stevens was arrested for scamming the state out of $1.4 million. Stevens also conned many engaged couples, who had put money down to have their receptions at Rebar. He is currently serving a sentence of 3 1/2 to 10 years.
