Owners question park's ban on pooches in heat

BROOKLYN - A popular Brooklyn dog run is coming under scrutiny from some owners for its ban on female pooches in heat.

The Brooklyn Bridge Park has had the ban in place since it opened in June, but many are questioning patrol officers' ability to tell which dogs are in heat.

Park officials say a summons could be issued to anyone who breaks the rule, but that most people who use the park tend to be compliant.
