P.S. 217 spring concert series wraps up

BROOKLYN - The spring concert series that has brought music and dancing to P.S. 217 in Flatbush has wrapped up.

Every week for the past two months, a blend of Southeast Asian and Mexican music, jazz and African-American step-dancing graced the school's new community garden, introducing both the students and local residents to the arts and culture.

"It's been building from week to week, and we're really hoping to keep this going," says Judy Brandwein, a coordinator at P.S. 217.

The concert series was organized with the help of the Brooklyn Arts Council's Arts in Education Program.
