BROOKLYN - Some Brooklyn elementary school students took part in the 3rd annual Harvest Day today in Canarsie.

Students at P.S. 276 planted an American Heart Association Teaching Garden in June just before school let out for the summer.

It is part of an education initiative to teach children how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants and harvest, produce and understand the value of good eating habits.

P.S. 276 is just one of two elementary schools in Brooklyn with an American Heart Association Teaching Garden. The other is P.S. 7 in Cypress Hills.
