P.S. 69 parents predict tragedy at controversial intersection

BOROUGH PARK - Parents and teachers in Borough Park are insisting something needs to be done at a dangerous intersection before a tragedy occurs.P.S. 69 sits on 9th Street between 63rd and 64th streets. Parents say there are more than 800 students enrolled in the school, and the majority of them walk home unsupervised. They say the lack of a traffic light at the busy intersection poses a danger each and every day to all students. The Department of Transportation agreed to repaint the crosswalk lines and conduct a traffic study at the intersection. However, they say they have conducted two previous traffic studies and determined there was no need for a light.
