BROOKLYN - The Police Athletic League (PAL) has kicked off its 2012 Summer Play Streets program.

The PAL will be closing off streets, playgrounds and parks every week throughout the summer to provide children with a safe place to play outdoors while school is out.

This year's activities include a variety of sports, arts and crafts, games, music and dance. The play streets are free for all city kids.
