CONEY ISLAND - A vote to merge two Brooklyn schools passed last night, putting parents from both schools at odds.

The Panel for Educational Policy listened to arguments about placing Coney Island Prep inside I.S. 303 before voting for the merger 11-2.

Parents from both schools argued to Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott that there was not enough space for all of the students, but supporters of the merger prevailed.

The panel also voted last night to close three other schools in the city.

The I.S. 303 PTA president says the group plans to challenge the panel's ruling with an appeal.
