BROOKLYN - A new Panera Bread restaurant has opened at the Kings Plaza Mall, providing nearly 60 jobs for Brooklyn residents. Some residents say the shopping center needed a new eatery, as diners in the area have closed over the years. "It's great," says resident Scott Feldman. "It's what the mall needed because there is really no place to sit down and eat in the mall." Restaurant representatives say nearly three-quarters of the hires are from Brooklyn, and that a new Panera is scheduled to open on Adams Street in downtown Brooklyn by the end of February.
