Parents arrested after Brooklyn baby dies

EAST NEW YORK - Police have arrested the parents of an 11-month-old baby who died Monday after having trouble breathing.

Police say Rafael Colon and Denise Gonzales were arrested Wednesday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Sources say the couple left the baby, named Major Gonzales, home alone with the couple's seven other children, who are all under the age of 10.

Authorities say the baby had been transported to a hospital by the time they arrived at the apartment Monday.

Neighbors say the parents were good to their children and the baby's death was probably an accident. Autopsy results are pending.
