Parents concerned Lafayette H.S. has asbestos

BROOKLYN - Some Brooklyn parents say they're concerned Lafayette High School may be contaminated with asbestos.

Students at the school say construction workers removed piping Thursday and dragged the materials through the hallways and cafeteria, leaving behind dust that allegedly contained asbestos. All weekend activities at the school, including the SATs, were canceled.

Parents say the Department of Education has done little to inform them of the situation. The DOE says the indoor air quality at the school is safe and classes will remain normally scheduled.
