GERRITSEN BEACH - Parents in Gerritsen Beach are complaining about a traffic light that remains uninstalled five months after it was approved.

The city?s Department of Transportation approved a flashing yellow light last August for the intersection outside of P.S. 277, but it has yet to be put in place. The light would control traffic between Gerritsen and Channel avenues.

A department spokesperson said the agency is preparing the layout for the flashing beacon and officials can then move ahead with installation.
