Parents lament day care's imminent closure

CARROLL GARDENS - Ten day care centers in Brooklyn run by the Administration for Children's Services are scheduled to close this summer because of budget cuts.

Parents at the Court Street Day Care Center of Amico say they're in shock about the closings. Josephine Rodriguez, who runs the center, says it isn't only the kids who'll be affected.

"We have 18 employed people here and they would lose their jobs and benefits," she says.

The ACS says all the children affected by the closures will be relocated to nearby centers.
