BROOKLYN - Some parents in Brooklyn say they are upset about plans to co-locate a charter school in their children's school.

If the proposal goes through, the new American Academy Charter School will be moved into P.S. 233 Langston Hughes in East Flatbush this upcoming school year.

Parents say the move could strain resources.

"Another school coming in and taking away their space, it will actually cram the kids together and actually they will lose out on their space that they do occupy," says Wesley Gumbs.

The Department of Education says the move could fill space more efficiently and provide a supportive learning environment for all students in the building.

The Panel for Educational Policy will vote on the proposal Wednesday in Long Island City.
