BROOKLYN - The East New York Preparatory School plans to close its doors and some parents are angry over the decision.
More than a dozen parents visited the Department of Education offices to protest the decision.
The DOE decided to close the Brooklyn school saying it consistently failed to serve its students. The school was put on probation in 2009 on charges of improperly discharging students and not providing adequate special education services.
The school plans to close its doors at the end of the school year. Parents say they learned of the closure during the admission lottery process.
